Mid-week movie.
The only thing funnier than watching a movie about 'older' folk, is watching it in a cinema full of 'older' folk. These people know how to laugh! We popped in to 1889 Pizzeria for dinner and saw The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and we spent the whole time smiling our faces off.

the things he says..
My husband is a sleep talker. It's hilarious.
Episode 1
W: Look, it's a bunny (pointing to door way) Look at the bunny, look! (rolls over towards me) I'm a bunny, nom nom nom nom nom.
L: What bunny? What are you talking about? (Will wakes)
W: ........What the heck was I doing?
30 minutes later...
W: (asleep again) How many vertebrae does a giraffe have?
Episode 2
W: Et toi? Et toi? Et toi?
Episode 3
W: Are there knobs on your light dimmer?
L: What?
W: On your lighter? Are there knobs?
L: What lighter babe? Is my lamp annoying you?
W: (rolls over and sighs in frustration) I just want to know the variables of your light!!
Episode 4
W: I'm not sure of this guy. I'm not sure about his closing argument
L: What?
W: This guy! He's supposed to be going in to bat for us!
---
Oh he makes me smile.

Sweet tooth
Do you ever leave a bowl of sweets for your rental agent when it's house inspection time?
Is it awkward that they all said things like 'Phone me', 'Kiss me' and 'Be mine'?

Making memories
The wonderful thing about capturing memories is that the good ones, the best ones, only grow better with age. Sure, the photos may be grainy and poorly-lit, not likely to win any awards or even get printed. And yet, how special that we can treasure our memories so easily, storing them away for a rainy day, storing them away to remind us that life is truly beautiful and we are very blessed.
We've been married almost four months now. Last weekend we celebrated a little achievement (making it through our French course!) with a delicious meal at C'est Bon, Woollongabba. I know we've shared countless meals together, and will share countless more in the years ahead. But it's these little moments that make life beautiful and I don't ever want to forget.

So...
Somebody impulse-bought a juicer.
In my defense, I'd like to argue that there are many worse things one could impulse buy. And also, how good does fresh juice taste?

Alien foods
I'm going to blame it on the fact we are both tall, and bending right over to peer into the bottom shelf of the pantry just doesn't happen regularly enough.

Great Uncle Victor's 80th birthday
Poor Uncle Victor didn't get much of a look in when it came to the camera. How can you compete with a horse that beautiful, a little nephew so cute and that handsome husband of mine?
We spent a warm Saturday afternoon eating cheese, meeting and getting reacquainted with extended family, singing Happy Birthday and enjoying sweet baby cuddles with our new niece.

Au revoir February...
...and there flies by another month. How is it March 6 already?
We did our usual thing - eat, drink, work and play. It's so nice to be establishing 'usual things' as a couple, making time for good food (it's all I ever seem to take photos of!), good conversations and good old fashioned quality time together.
February brought with it many unexpected moments - some bad, but mostly good. We're so grateful for this life we get to live and are doing our best to soak it all up.
A breakfast date at Brio, a spontaneous walk through South Bank, a scenic route of the city, Max Brenners, figs and croissants, jelly hearts and a cheeky little Queenslander fighting for it's space amidst the big concrete city.

Campos with friends
We spent Sunday afternoon with dear friends for lunch and coffees at Campos, Fortitude Valley. After a long wait in the heat, our little posse were treated to our own private room, complete with soft chairs and a buzzer to buzz wait staff! Feasting on breakfast foods, and downing a good amount of coffee (I even managed a flat white), we chatted and chatted and chatted away.

Nous parlons francais!
Well, a little bit at least!
Our French Summer School finished last night. It was intense but so worthwhile, and we're so surprised / proud of how much we picked up. We can say the essentials - 'Je ne sais pas' (I don't know), 'Je ne comprendre pas' (I don't understand) and 'J'oublie' (I forget!). We can also make silly sentences like 'Nous aimons manger le chat bleu' (We like to eat the blue cat), and do much more useful things like introducing ourselves and talking about food, travel and our home.
Will also pulled out 'Ma femme, elle s'appelle Laura. Elle est tres jolie' (My wife, her name is Laura. She is very pretty!) in our speaking exam, which made the rest of the class smile and left me blushing :)
And if we suddenly throw our arms up in the air, exasperated, and let out a couple of strong French words, we're probably practicing our newly-acquired French swear words. I never swear in English, but what is it about saying something, anything, in French, that feels so sexy? Je ne sais pas!
