The wonderful thing about capturing memories is that the good ones, the best ones, only grow better with age. Sure, the photos may be grainy and poorly-lit, not likely to win any awards or even get printed. And yet, how special that we can treasure our memories so easily, storing them away for a rainy day, storing them away to remind us that life is truly beautiful and we are very blessed.
We've been married almost four months now. Last weekend we celebrated a little achievement (making it through our French course!) with a delicious meal at C'est Bon, Woollongabba. I know we've shared countless meals together, and will share countless more in the years ahead. But it's these little moments that make life beautiful and I don't ever want to forget.
We spent Sunday afternoon with dear friends for lunch and coffees at Campos, Fortitude Valley. After a long wait in the heat, our little posse were treated to our own private room, complete with soft chairs and a buzzer to buzz wait staff! Feasting on breakfast foods, and downing a good amount of coffee (I even managed a flat white), we chatted and chatted and chatted away.
Will loved a black coffee + soda water concoction, we all loved the
coffee bag wall and Bec and I managed to convince everyone into taking a
not-too-awkward family photo. How sweet are moments with friends?
Our epic quest to eat our way around West End was progressing very nicely until we tried this place, West End Coffee House. They serve food (Thai Isaan) and coffee (Campos) so good we don't dare go anywhere else anymore. If you're ever in the 'hood, let us know and we'll most definitely take you there.
Will was dreaming about sticky rice all evening, and I was up all night after my yearly coffee.
If you're new to Isaan cuisine, we recommend the thai beef salad or the larb. If you want to try something a little new, go the som tam. Seriously.
Our long-awaited beach trip nearly didn't happen after a series of unfortunate car-related events that ended with Will sitting in the BiLo carpark waiting for RACQ. But we got there in the end, and oh it was good.
Ocean breeze, fresh prawns, a new picnic rug (thanks Paul + Lauren!) and lots of puppy-stalking. The best way to spend a summer's holiday.
We did our usual star-jump session...
...and finished the day with pirouettes and high kicks.
